The presentation describes the approach of Capgemini to agile projects in a distributed environment. It presents key methods and tools to minimize the geographical and mental distance within distributed teams, for example: communication between all team members through excellent technical infrastructure – voice-, video- and desktop sharing tools, using well known best communication practices as well as exchange programs, where people from each location travel and visit each other on a regular basis. There is also a discussion of organizational models for distributed agile teams as well as new project roles enabling better communication and knowledge sharing. The Capgemini Agile! Nearshore calls for transparency in projects, by sharing the Product and Sprint Backlogs in digital form, common knowledge-sharing space and shared project infrastructure.
